NIU Cares Day, the university’s annual day of service projects is hosting a fundraiser on Monday, March 24 at Pizza Villa.
From 4 to 8 p.m., Pizza Villa will donate 25 percent of dine-in and carry-out orders made by those who bring a coupon.

The coupon is available on the NIU Cares Day web site, http://www.niu.edu/studentinvolvement/volunteer/niucares.shtml


Filmmaker to present documentary
Filmmaker Byron Hurt will be presenting his film, “Beyond Beats and Rhymes” and a discussion March 25 at 7 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, Carl Sandburg Auditorium.

The event, put on by the Women’s Resource Center, is free but individuals wanting to attend should call 815-753-0320 to reserve a seat.

-> The second of three Cole Hall open forum discussions will take place tonight in the Campus Life Building, Room 100 at 7 p.m.

-> The Disney Theme Parks and Resorts College Program will have an informational presentation at 6 p.m. tonight in the HSC, Illinois Room. For more information and to fill out an application, visit www.disneycollegeprogram.com.

-> “Asian Flair,” is on the menu today at Ellington’s, located in the Holmes Student Center. Ellington’s is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the cost of the meal, including tip, is $8.

-> The Vegetarian Education Group (VEG) will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in DuSable Hall room 428. VEG caters to health-conscious individuals as well as vegetarians and vegans. For more information e-mail z085479@students.niu.edu

-> Rita Yusko, formerly a research development officer with Sponsored Projects at NIU, has been named acting manager of the university’s Technology Transfer Office.

-> NIU’s Regional History Center/University Archives is looking for any documentation regarding the Feb. 14 shootings from students, staff or faculty. Submissions can include e-mails, correspondence, poems, official documents, class projects, photographs and videos. For more information, call 815-753-1779.
