of Multi-Ad.
Oct. 6-8: The 134th Annual Illinois
Press Association Convention is Oct. 6-8 at the Radisson Hotel in Lisle-Naperville.
Programs include:
- Frank Bucaro on Taking the High Road (ethics)
- A four-newspaper panel on "Playing Solomon" includes Linda
Cunningham (Rockford), Nigel Wade (Sun-Times), Bernie Judge (Law Bulletin)
and John Foreman (Champaign).
- Writing Coach Jim Stasiowski is presenting an Oct. 8 writing program.
- Jim Derks and Jay Small are presenting an Oct. 8 online program.
- The Herald & Review in Decatur (including publisher Mike Gulledge)
are presenting an Oct. 8 community involvement program.
- IPA contest winners from 4,300 entries will be named at noon on Oct.
8.

Oct. 27-28: The Illinois Press Foundation is sponsoring two access
issues workshops on Oct. 27-28 in Springfield and Naperville with the help
of the attorney general's office. Topics will include First Amendment, FOIA,
open meetings, etc.
The seminars will feature IPA Executive Director David Bennett, IPA Government
Affairs Manager Beth Bennett, IPA General Counsel Don Craven, and Shawn
Denney and Steve Rotello of the Illinois Attorney General's Office. Oct.
27 is at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield. Oct. 28 is at the Radisson
