Inspiration's only a click away

Editors and reporters: Need a jolt of creative energy in the morning? Here are several Internet resources to keep ahead of your competition:

Al's Morning Meeting. The Poynter Institute's Al Tompkins writes this daily column. It's loaded with story ideas based on current news and trends. It's also available as a daily e-mail.
www.poynter.org, then look in the "Columns" area.

Urban Legends Reference Pages. Is George W. Bush secretly planning to reinstitute the draft? Is the Communist Party really endorsing John Kerry? Was a man electrocuted while recharging his cell-phone battery? This site is great for quickly checking out wild, e-mail rumors and other stuff you're pretty sure isn't true.

GetReligion. A daily blog by Scripps Howard religion columnist Terry Mattingly, this site offers a wealth of ideas for religion news and trend stories.

Relevant Magazine. If you want to know what's cool among 18-to-35-year-old Christians in your community, this is the place. It's not just a religious site, but it incorporates that worldview into articles about current news and pop culture.
