I am pleased to announce NINAs 2005 newspaper competition and
invite your papers participation. This years contest rules
and entry forms have been mailed to our member newspapers. You may also
visit the NINA Web site where youll not only find contest rules,
but also recent newsletters and fall conference and awards ceremony details.
I am also happy to announce the addition of a new contest category for
best religion writing. This category was established to honor our colleague,
Owen Phelps, former editor of The Observer, the newspaper of the Catholic
Diocese in Rockford. Owen recently stepped down after many years of distinguished
service on the NINA board.
Please ...
- Read all rules carefully;
- Make certain your NINA membership is current and that you are entering
in the appropriate circulation group and entry categories;
- Attach a copy of the entry form to each entry (make as many copies
of the entry form as needed); and
- See that your entries are postmarked no later than Monday, July 25,
2005.
Dont forget to mark your calendars for the annual NINA fall conference
and awards ceremony scheduled for Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Northern Illinois
University. The NINA Board is planning an exciting day and we hope to see
you there.
Good luck in the contest!
